5 Chic Kettles for Your Consideration
Niche! My kettle recently broke and as a big tea lover, it needed replacing right away. Here are 5 chic kettles that immediately caught my eye.
SMEG
The retro-style SMEG Jug kettle is the one I’ve had for at least 5 years and something deep within me always knew it wasn’t the kettle for me. A kettle can say a lot about a person, and I don’t consider my interiors style retro, so what on earth was I doing with that thing? Don’t get me wrong, they are beautiful and iconic and certainly have their place, but that place is no longer in my flat! If you’re into the SMEG curves it’s available in so many colours, matte and glossy.
HAY
Starting off with a very strong contender. You can’t go wrong with the iconic George Sowden x HAY kettle - available in lots of colours. Simple, scandi and sleek.
ALESSI
The Alessi Toru kettle was very strong contender as I was super into the idea of getting a silver kettle. There’s something nostalgic about the oversized handle, but not as retro as the shape of the SMEG for instance.
FELLOW
The Fellow Stagg Kettle is a true statement piece! Ideal for coffee lovers who need a precision pour spout and exact temperature control - so cool. I actually used to have this kettle in my apartment in Brooklyn, but when I decided to part ways with NYC I gave this to my Mom who still proudly uses this every day for her daily cup of tea. This is more of a coffee kettle and it drove me nuts that it took so long to pour the water over the tea bag, so ultimately not the one for me, but I adore it nonetheless.
AARKE
Finally, the kettle I ended up buying. The AARKE Steel Kettle has precise temperature control, is super quiet and energy efficient. I’m obsessed. I love that it’s silver, the material feels elevated, while at the same time looking utterly simplistic and nonchalant on my countertop. I have zero regrets and honestly I think this kettle has changed my life. They say you can’t pour from an empty cup and I’d like to take that a step further and say you can’t make a good cup of tea with a kettle that no longer aligns with you.
I know it’s niche… but I’d love to know what your dream kettle is.
I got the Harden Dorset kettle in the Putty color and I am in love! It matches my kitchen scheme perfectly and works well enough for me…although I feel like the Brits might have a higher standard for kettles than most American do. She pretty tho! And that’s what really mattered to me.
Special mention to the Dualit Classic kettle, love the stainless steel and some components can be bought to replace any breaks, so should last us years 😍
