After a busy couple of weeks, I returned to my desk at home in London with a serious case of inbox anxiety. Yes, it’s a real thing people!

You know that feeling where your inbox is totting up rapidly and you’re slowly drowning in panic and pressure. For me, the inbox anxiety often crops up at night, first thing in the morning and of course, when I’m trying to relax.

When my inbox is out of control, I feel out of control. Perhaps it translates to setting high, unrealistic standards for myself in the first place. If I don’t respond quick enough, am I unprofessional? Will the sender think I’m rude? Does it reflect on my business? You can see how this would trigger a meltdown for a serial over-thinker!

If like me, you find yourself excessively worrying about the amount of emails you need to respond to, and have even started avoiding looking at them altogether - you’re definitely experiencing inbox anxiety.
