Hot take - spending a weekend alone is one of the best things I do to protect my peace. Sure, maybe throw in brunch out or a glass of wine with a friend for a *little* bit of human interaction, but for the most part - I love nothing more than my alone time at the end of a busy week.
SELF-CARE
This one’s obvious… but having self-care morning or evening with no time constraints is truly one of life’s greatest joys. I love to take a long SOAK in the bath and enjoy my favourite products. Lately, I’ve been adding a few dashes of SMOOTH Body Oil to my baths for a super luxurious, nourishing experience. Plus, the essential oils really calm me down. Right now, I’m also loving this clay mask. If I’m feeling like I need it, I might even treat myself to a massage at the local Thai massage place - best massages. MOVEMENT
I love unwinding with a yoga class on a Saturday morning or Sunday evening. It helps me decompress from the week and sets me up for a weekend prioritising myself. I have been doing hot yoga and *woah* - there’s something about sweating it out while also grounding myself that feels next level relaxing. Of course, I take my Effie girl on lots of walks throughout the weekend. As we have a bit more time, we often get in the car and venture across the city to some of our favourite spots for a longer walk - Hampstead Heath will always be a favourite.
CLEANING
Tidy space, tidy mind - it’s true! I love a slow, Sunday reset ahead of a new week - laundry, fresh sheets, fresh flowers, spruce up, a grocery shop, you get the gist. Top tip: If you’re lacking motivation, set a 30 minute timer, put your headphones on and just go for it, even if you only tidy one room - you’ll thank yourself later! *Niche* but i’m obsessed with this Sage Space Spray right now - it’s non-toxic and smells so fresh.
LIFE ADMIN
Call me crazy, but I actually enjoy an hour or two of work on the weekend. Sometimes it’s inescapable (founder life…) but I find I’m able to tick lots off my never-ending to-do list when I don’t have a non-stop flow of Zoom calls and emails to reply to! I also love spending some time planning out the week ahead in my calendar… this eases the Sunday scaries and that panicky flustered feeling that often sweeps over us on a Monday morning.
RELAXING
I literally can’t function throughout the week if I haven’t had enough guilt-free downtime on the weekends. Can you relate? A nap, reading time, Netflix - it’s a must! I have spent the weekend binging Breeders on Netflix which is so good. I also spend a lot of time yapping on the phone catching up with friends.

You have been and will forever be my self care icon. You have inspired me to spend my Sunday taking care of myself!!
Looooved having a weekend alone when I had my angel poodle with me. I lost him 2 months ago therefore "alone time" has a very different meaning today. Missing him terribly everyday isn't going anywhere, obviously, but this note is received as a sign to learn - or at least try - to take care of myself again regardless of the pain. Thank you 🤍
