Swapping the stresses of city life for forest walks, cozy cabins, hot cups of chai and living life in the slow lane for a few days...it’s a yes from me. Let’s dive into a little round up of some of my favourite staycation spots here in the UK!

Loose Reins, Dorset
I recently enjoyed a lovely weekend at Loose Reins in Shillingstone, Dorset - about 45 minutes drive from Poole on the South Coast. Made up of lodges and cedar cabins, there’s a kind of wild west ranch feel to the farm which was really unique! Nestled in a natural coombe, surrounded by woodland, Loose Reins’ ethos is all about taking you back to a time when life was simpler.

Blue Room, Margate
This lovely little one bed apartment in Margate was such a good find! When I was looking for a place to stay for the weekend, the gorgeous bathroom with the free-standing tub and checkered wall tiles stole my heart immediately (obviously). The apartment has a cool 70s vibe and a sea view! It’s pet friendly and well equipped with everything you need for a cosy weekend in Margate.

Unyoked
Unyoked have a beautiful range of hideouts across the UK (and New Zealand!) and call themselves ‘an escape hatch from everyday worries’ - a serene base to disconnect from the world and get out in nature. Conveniently within reach of London, expect remote countryside, ancient woodland and views for days.

Kip Hideaways
Kip Hideaways have the most incredible selection of remote properties to choose from - up and down the country! From cosy cottages, treehouses and quaint cabins to big rustic farmhouses - there’s something to suit everyone’s needs. Whether you’re going on a solo trip, a romantic weekend away or a break with a big group of friends - I absolutely recommend checking out Kip for your next rental.

ARC Stay
If you’re looking for something bigger, ARC Painswick is a charming 15th century manor house in Gloucestershire that can sleep up to 24 people! The house has the perfect mix of little nooks and open spaces - making it perfect for hosting our first MIRROR WATER retreat back in 2022. Expect quintessential British vibes with contemporary twists in all the right places…

The Quist
A cosy wood-panelled hideaway which sits quietly amongst the ancient oaks and firs. The sounds and atmosphere of this ancient woodland defy words; it needs to be felt to be understood. The bathtub view is worth the drive from London alone.
Let’s discuss! Where are your favourite UK staycation destinations? 💭
Lovely as always Estee!! Had a laugh reading "hideous" instead of "hideouts" and was like wait what hahaha hope I can make it to one of them next year! <3
